This coming weekend (9th-11th September), The Big Comfy Bookshop is holding a literature festival up in Coventry’s Fargo Village. There’s going to be lots of interesting stuff going on over the three days, including guest writers, book talks, book signings and live music.
Visit the bookshop’s website to check out the full programme.
HCE’s regular Fire & Dust night went well on 1st September, with guest poets Aysar Ghassan and Martin Brown. The festival’s closing event on Sunday will be a bonus F&D poetry open mic, hosted by Silhouette Press (our publisher).  At 4.30 p.m we’ll have former Birmingham poet laureate, Roy McFarlane, headlining  – plus open mic spots up for grabs. Make sure you’re there on time to claim a seat/sign up to read!
We’ll also – hopefully  – have copies of the Transition Issue with us on the day, as that’s currently with the printers. Apologies to everyone for the long wait, we had a few hiccups along the way. As soon as we’ve got mags ready to sell online, we’ll let you know via Twitter,  Facebook, this website etc.
It’s going to be a great festival weekend. For all our readers who live local to Coventry, the HCE team look forward to seeing you there. I plan to visit Twisted Barrel beforehand, to sample a tasty beer or two in-between soaking up all this literary culture…
